DARE to Do It Yourself

One of my new favorite blogs is NewlyWoodwards. It's about a cute couple about our age, and they are also doing some renovations on their home. They are doing so much of the work themselves (and so quickly! I am always amazed at what they get done in a week!), which is inspiring for a DIY'er like me!

So, I got excited by one of their recent posts - they are doing the second annual DARE to Do It Yourself Blog Party!

Here is the plan, and what to do {in NewlyWoodwards' own words}:

THE PLAN:
Each week has a corresponding "Dare to..." challenge. You may want to prepare ahead for some of the themes.

WHAT TO DO:
Each Sunday evening, I will post a McLinky on NewlyWoodwards. Post about your take on the challenge and link it up on your blog. Then, visit at least one other blog and comment!!! This is the important because we want to meet new blogger friends and get inspired. This is a PARTY. Tell us about your project, but make sure to praise others as well.

On Tuesday, to help you plan, I will post inspiration for the next week’s theme. Also, search Flickr, Google and other blogs to find inspiration. And, if you have already done something that fits into a theme, link it up on that day. In other words, you don't have to do something during the week if you have something that fits the theme.

Even if you don't have a blog, please join us! If you want to send me any photos of your projects, I can share them here on my blog. What's nice is that there are weekly challenges you know about in advance, and none of them are so difficult that they seem overwhelming to complete in a week. Even though we have a long commute, I still think these challenges are very do-able. And, they will be fun!  Some examples include setting your own table (even if your not hosting Thanksgiving this year, you can dress up your table for fun and share with us), a DIY Thanksgiving project, decking the halls with Christmas decorations, etc.

Check out NewlyWoodwards or back with me around the middle of November for more info! Looking forward to sharing our projects together!
